For better or for worse, the pandemic has enabled us, the Crown 50th Reunion Plannning Committee, to present one in-person 50th reunion for the three earliest classes ’70, ’71, and ’72. Like many best-laid plans, we’d intended to have a 50th reunion for the class of ’70 in April 2020. Pandemic strikes, and we go to plan B to have a joint 50th reunion for the classes of ’70 and ’71 in April 2021. Pandemic strikes again, vaccines on the horizon. Onto plan C and a joint 50th reunion for the classes of ’70, ’71, and ’72. We will continue planning, remaining flexible, with hopes of being together in April 2022.
And this may end up being a better reunion for it. Many of our enduring memories and friendships were formed in the dorms where all years mingled. I’m class of Crown ’72, but I have close relationships with members of the two classes ahead of me and the three classes that followed me. Who knows? Maybe we’ll start a trend for multi-year class reunions.
